Whilst Replas no longer a dedicated toolmaker, we work closely with a trusted network of experienced tooling partners both in the UK and China who understand the practical realities of injection moulding. This collaboration allows us to provide customers with a seamless route from concept through to production, ensuring tooling is designed with manufacture firmly in mind from the outset.
Over the years, we have seen many examples of products that looked good on paper but created unnecessary challenges once they reached production. Early involvement from the moulding team helps identify potential issues before they become costly problems, whether that’s improving mouldability, reducing cycle times or simplifying future maintenance requirements.
For customers developing a new product, we can assist with design for manufacture discussions, material selection and tooling recommendations, helping to ensure the most appropriate solution is chosen for the expected production volume and application. Not every project requires a complex or expensive tool, and part of our role is helping customers find the right balance between performance, longevity and investment.
We also regularly support customers who already own tooling. In some cases, tools may require refurbishment, modification or optimisation to improve moulding performance. Our in-house tool room allows us to carry out maintenance and minor tooling work quickly, helping to maximise tool life and minimise production disruption.
